This beast in Saffron Walden was built by Dreamland Skateparks. That says it all.
The park is in England... but don't let that put you off. It's an amazing skatepark and only a short flight from Scotland. Go to Stansted or Luton and hire a car, get a map and seek it out.

I went there on a Sunday and it was rammed with lippy Essex chavs and a million rollerbladers. Crikey!
You'll want to hit this one up on a week day to avoid the scene I was faced with.
Maybe by that time some of the 'locals' will have got a broom to sweep the dirt away. There was a disgraceful amount of mud on the park. Sloppy.

I got the impression that some of these kids didn't realise the significance of having a Dreamland park in their backyard. Spoiled brats.
This park is frightening, as most Dreamland parks are. These boys from Oregon do it the right way. Check their website for more.
If you like Kemnay and Dudhope, you'll love the quirkiness of this one. It's only the third build in Europe they've done, to go with Brixlegg and Bologna. Sick.
It's got it all... deep bowls that look like Upland's Pipeline, interesting 'street' sections for the ledge rats and a keyhole with real pool coping. Everyone stays happy. The park flows super nicely and there's so much to play on. You'll need a few days to get your fill. I'm not going to describe to you everything that's there. You can go down and see for yourself. Enjoy.

While down that way, why not check out the legendary Bowes Lyon Skatepark in Stevenage. This magnificent park was built in 1977 and like punk rock is still going strong to this day. It's got a half pipe/capsule; reservoir banks and an amazing 'clover' with over vert wall.

Some of the original features were demolished in the early nineties. The keyhole was branded unsafe but that's the whole point surely?? Then half the banks were removed to prevent 'ravers' from climbing up to gatecrash acid house parties in 1990/91. Criminal.

Still, what's left of the park had a facelift a few years ago from the Bendcrete mob and the remnants will still provide you with hours of fun lines.

I spent my youth skating this park all the time and witnessed the likes of Steve Caballero and the Bones Brigade; Chris Miller; Tom Knox and Jeff Kendal kill the old metal vert ramp that stood from 1988-1991. Good times.
Cheers
Where is this?
One Minet Park, Lord Butler Leisure Centre, Saffron Walden, Essex.
Bowes Lyon House, St. Georges Way, Stevenage, Hertfordshire
How do I get there?
Fly from Aberdeen to Luton or try Glasgow or Edinburgh to Stansted. That's closer to S.Walden. Hire a car and drive there. S. Walden is a small town in the countryside, you'll need a motor.
